Paramount Skydance Set to Cut Around 2,000 American Positions – Update

Paramount Skydance will begin significant workforce reductions the week of 27 October, cutting about 2,000 US jobs within a budget-saving initiative valued at $2bn under top executive David Ellison.

These job cuts follow the combination between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized in August worth $8.4bn.

Further international job cuts are anticipated, with the company planning to announce complete information via its third quarter earnings report set for the 10th of November.

Previous updates had indicated that Paramount planned to eliminate between 2,000 and 3,000 jobs by the beginning of next month.

By December 2024, the organization retained almost 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts plus 3,500 project-based staff.

The organization has not provided a response on the matter.
